In Holly's words "The fifth Illustration in the Country Kin Collection. This whole collection was inspired by my Uncles Artworks. Animals were a huge focus in many of his pieces and having a young son at home, I wanted to create something for my sons room that tied together his art and my contemporary style. This piece could be my favourite although it is so hard to choose. There’s something about the colour palette in connection with the platypus that expresses warmth and grounding. This piece was similar in inspiration to my snake. A platypus is not an overly common illustration you’d come across for a young Childs room but why not? Why not, when they’re so true to our identity and the land we live upon."
