In Holly's words "This was the first piece I illustrated in the Country Kin Collection. This whole collection was inspired by my Uncles Artworks. Animals were a huge focus in many of his pieces and having a young son at home, I wanted to create something for my sons room that tied together his art and my contemporary style. My dad has a large artwork covered in fish placed on the canvas similar to this illustration, a piece of his brothers. I grew up fishing. It was a space where I built really strong connections and memories with the men in my life, something I’d love to pass down to my son. This is where the inspiration for this piece came from."
