We’re searching for the next Emro Designs Young Artist - and they might just be you!
Emro Designs is a First Nations Owned homewares brand that puts Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art into homes, schools & Early Learning Centres across Australia through our range of soft furnishings including Rugs, Wallpapers, Cushions and more!
Now, for the first time, we’re opening that door to Young Artists aged 8 to 12. If you are an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander young person with a story to tell and a canvas to paint it on, this is your chance to see your very own Artwork on a Limited edition Rug!
WHAT’S THE PRIZE?
The winning artist will receive:
• Their original artwork reproduced as a limited edition Emro Designs rug, sold to customers across Australia
• Full artist credit on all product listings, the Emro website, and all marketing materials
• A dedicated artist profile page on emrodesigns.com.au- just like our adult collaborating artists
• One complimentary rug featuring their design
HOW TO ENTER
Entering is simple. Here's what you need:
- Your original artwork created on canvas
- A title for your artwork
- The story behind your artwork in your own words (50 to 300 words) -What inspired you? What does it mean to you? What does it say about your culture or Country?
- A clear photo or scan of your finished artwork
- A parent or guardian to complete the consent section at the end of the entry form
When you're ready, hit the button below. The form takes about 7-10 minutes to complete and you can upload your artwork photo directly - no emailing required.

WHO CAN ENTER?
• Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons
• Aged 8 to 12 years
• Living anywhere in Australia
• All skill levels welcome - this is about your story, not perfection
A parent or guardian must complete the consent section as part of the entry form. No separate form or email required.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can I enter more than one artwork?
Each artist may submit one entry only.
Does the artwork have to be a certain size?
There is no strict size requirement, but we recommend a minimum of A3 to ensure the best quality if your design is reproduced.
Do I keep my artwork?
Yes. You retain full ownership of your original artwork. Emro Designs only requests permission to reproduce, licence and promote it as detailed in the Terms and Conditions.
Will finalists be recognised?
Yes - we plan to recognise up to 3 finalists on our website and social media. Finalists will be contacted before their artwork is shared publicly.
