The Story Behind the Design
This design represents and celebrates the relationship between First Nations peoples and our Country. Country is our mother, and gives us our identity and sense of belonging. Our relationship with Country is sacred, and is interconnected with our culture, family and kinship, traditions, songlines, languages, and physical, spiritual and emotional wellbeing. The meeting place circles scattered throughout represent the diversity, strength and resilience of our First Nation’s communities, families and cultures. The lines and detailed patterns across the artwork symbolise our songlines and an aerial view of Country. This always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
Perfect for play-based learning, and for children to engage, connect to the stories & in turn spark conversation!

Cleaning the rug
Vacuum Regularly. Avoid any cleaning agent with bleach or strong chemicals. It is best to try an area for colourfastness before using across a large area of the rug. We recommend to use a dry powder style of cleaner as they can be vacuumed out of the rug and do not leave any residue. When cleaning, always blot, and never scrub or rub abrasively.
DO NOT run vacuum directly over outer serged edge of carpet. This can create fraying. Clean spills immediately by blotting with a cloth or sponge. Remove any grease spots with ordinary dry cleaning solvents. If you do vacuum over the edge of the rug it can cause serge yarn to become frayed and torn. It is always best to test a cleaner on an inconspicuous spot on the carpet/rug before applying to the entire piece.
Professional or periodic cleanings using the power spray-extraction carpet cleaning method are recommended. You should have the smallest possible amount of cleaning chemical used when you hire a professional cleaner. Allow to dry flat on the floor.
Not recommended for use outdoors or in bright sunlight as the material colours may fade over time.
Beautiful pattern and colours
I absolutely love the design on this rug, the rubber grip under the mat is awesome, it doesn't shift around which is great, I love that the business is wholly owned and run by indigenous people and that the profit goes directly back to the artist, however, this rug is extremely lightweight and I don't believe it will hold up to the rigorous demands of the small children who live in this house. I am extremely disappointed with how the rug is wearing and that I have to keep spot cleaning it. I have had to put it in a room where the children don't go and put some hard wearing carpet in its place. It does look fantastic in the other room but I bought this design so the children could use the pattern on the rug as roads and paths for their play based learning so I am a little disappointed
This rug is by far the favored place for our students and staff to sit on and congregate for library story time. The colour and design is sensational. It creates a fun space and lifts the overall interior of our teaching room.
