Lilly Pilly Float Rug

This striking design is by Djabugay and Wiradjuri artist Nikita Herd.

The Story Behind the Design

Growing up Nikita spent a lot of time swimming in the rivers of
Kuranda with her brothers and cousins. During the wet seasons, many
lilly pilly fruits were found floating throughout the river systems.
Along with her cousins and brothers, lilly pillys
were collected and shared together.

The colours represent the flavours of the Lilly pilly fruits being sweet
and sour and also the land as they wash away with the rain.

Features;

  • Available in both a 2m round a 2x3m rectangle rug
  • Nylon 9mm cut nylon pile rug with TPR backing
  • Serge stitching with no-pull edges
  • Treated to guard against odours, mildew & static shock

Cleaning the rug

Vacuum Regularly. Avoid any cleaning agent with bleach or strong chemicals. It is best to try an area for colourfastness before using across a large area of the rug. We recommend to use a dry powder style of cleaner as they can be vacuumed out of the rug and do not leave any residue. When cleaning, always blot, and never scrub or rub abrasively.

DO NOT run vacuum directly over outer serged edge of carpet. This can create fraying.   Clean spills immediately by blotting with a cloth or sponge. Remove any grease spots with ordinary dry cleaning solvents. If you do vacuum over the edge of the rug it can cause serge yarn to become frayed and torn. It is always best to test a cleaner on an inconspicuous spot on the carpet/rug before applying to the entire piece.
Professional or periodic cleanings using the power spray-extraction carpet cleaning method are recommended. You should have the smallest possible amount of cleaning chemical used when you hire a professional cleaner. Allow to dry flat on the floor.

Not recommended for use outdoors or in bright sunlight as the material colours may fade over time.

LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT.

I have been hanging out for ages to buy one of these and it absolutely has not disappointed.

It works so well in the space. In fact maybe even better than I had imagined.

It is so generous in size which means that it covers our lounge room in proportions of which I didn’t think I could ever afford or be maybe be even able to find in the marketplace.

It’s such a luxury and is perfect for our space.

Thank you!

It’s so pretty l stop

It’s so pretty l stop and gaze at it when I enter my sunroom. My granddaughter is entranced and loves playing games tracing the circles, and rolling around it
